Dear Livejournal,
I love leaf vegetables SO MUCH. I swear this: When I move out, I will try and eat leafy greens at every meal. They're delicious, affordable, easy-to-prepare, high nutritious, and can fit into just about any meal.
This is what writing papers can do to a man. I am writing about my favorite vegetables in my livejournal when I should be writing about 11th century Japanese literary techniques (hint: it's not just the austere poetry about nature and tears).
Anyway, outside of school, my life is pretty okay. I finally used my Starving Musician gift card and bought a Yamaha TX81Z, which is a 4-operator FM synth from 1986 (the year I was born). I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I'm excited about working FM synthesis into my musical sounds. My personal life has been okay, too. I've spent good times with friends here and there, I think. And I've met some new, cool people, too, which is nice. I really, really need to have arty conversations with people to survive.
Have I mentioned that Kahimi Karie's Montage is crazily good? Because it is. The two opening tracks ("When Will You Be Back?" and "Making Our World") are just perfect. BUT, I can see how it owes something to Tilt (which I just listened to for the first time quite recently). It's not much of a stylisic development--in fact, I would say it shows somewhat of a stylistic regression after Trapeziste.
Yeah that's it. Back to The Tale of Genji.
