Me too! Mine is coming up soon too, I've been thinking about why I even consider it significant. I guess in part because it marks the first step away from youthful teenage/young twenties years into the mid-twenties.
Also, for me personally; 23 was the age at which my mother was married.

For me, it's because my favorite blue-haired character, Fuschia, begins her journeys at 23. It's when she has both maturity and exuberance. In my whole fantasy world thing, 23 is like WHEN IT STARTS, MAN.

By the way, Elisa told me that, long ago, when you sat in on my class to watch my video, that I was rude and weird to you? Something like, "you can share your thoughts, but you have to say it quietly?" Let me just say now I have no idea what I meant or what I was on.

The key part is "and you were tipsy/high," hahahaha. But seriously, I think I had just had a little cup of beer? I'm pretty sure I'm just naturally weird. And I was pretty stressed/nervous about the debut of the film. But I'm glad it wasn't too bad. Of course, Elisa spinned it like I am Beelzebub.

23 just sounds kind of lucky when you put it in the context of your story! I was feeling a little trepidation about it (maybe because my mom's track record represented a sort of subconscious age/right of passage thing?) but reading your take makes it seem more exciting. I want to be happy about being 23! getting older shouldn't be all lame and boring, how cliche!
